Dave was introduced to steel through his work as a
boilermaker and has found that the medium allows him to
express both his love of nature and his passion for form and
balance.
Dave works predominantly with steel and found objects, using
his innate sense of ‘rightness’ when deciding how a piece
will go together. Often there is no initial concept for a
work but one idea can evolve as many finished sculptures,
all with an attachment to the original idea, but not
requiring it.
'To reflect, acknowledge, respect and work.
It's only through form that we can realise
emptiness'. Anon
